What is ChimSpect?
Read about our story
ChimSpect originated from my ambition to unify and enhance the way our technicians conducted and recorded level 1 and level II chimney inspections. This journey began years ago, fueled by the inadequacies in flexibility, speed, and accuracy I found in existing systems on the market.
The goals for ChimSpect were clear:
• To demonstrate our adherence to the industry-standard level of care established since 2000. To ensure accountability among all our technicians.
• To enable our crews to efficiently generate narrative-style reports, which significantly boost sales.
• To improve documentation of on-site activities, a need highlighted by a past incident involving property damage where better records could have mitigated our liability.
In October 2017, with the help of my brother Bills extensive experience in software development, we established ChimSpect. The system has exceeded expectations and continues to evolve, ensuring it remains technologically current and industry-relevant. For this reason, we've decided to build a brand new version of ChimSpect, called ChimSpect Advanced, to give our customers even more options to build out their inspections.
Since its launch in September 2018, ChimSpect has been adopted by numerous chimney technicians, aiding in the inspection of over 70,000 chimneys. It stands as the first and foremost app in its category, helping chimney sweeps enhance their business through professional inspection reporting.

ChimSpect Advanced is the newest iteration of ChimSpect built from what we learned with ChimSpect Basic. It provides even more tools to help you streamline your inspection reports.
